ASPA Commissions New Report to Tackle Counterfeiting in India

Marking World Anti-Counterfeiting Day 2025, the Authentication Solution Providers’ Association (ASPA) has launched a major initiative aimed at strengthening India’s fight against counterfeit products. ASPA has commissioned the second edition of its flagship report titled “State of Counterfeiting in India – 2025”, in collaboration with renowned analytics firm CRISIL.

Scheduled for release later this year, the report will deliver a comprehensive analysis of counterfeit trends across high-risk sectors such as pharmaceuticals, agriculture, FMCG, automotive, apparel, and consumer durables. The findings will serve as a powerful tool for policymakers, brand owners, regulators, and solution providers to implement targeted anti-counterfeiting strategies.

This follows the success of the 2022 edition, which became a key reference across national and global platforms, cited by leaders in both government and industry for its valuable insights.

Speaking on the occasion, ASPA President Manoj Kochar reiterated the importance of this initiative:

“Counterfeiting endangers lives and economic integrity. With this report, we aim to create an ecosystem rooted in trust, transparency, and zero tolerance for fake products.”

Established in 1998, ASPA is the world’s first self-regulated body representing authentication and traceability solution providers. With over 90 member companies, ASPA supports more than 15,000 global brands, offering technologies that range from secure printing and holography to blockchain, QR/NFC, and phygital systems.

The organization continues to lead industry efforts to promote product authenticity and consumer trust through innovation, collaboration, and education.
